March 7, 2016In 2004 I ran my first 1/2 marathon. I had never run so far in my life. I doubted I could do it, but I tried. It was the Chilly Half marathon, in Burlington and it was the goal race of the Running Room Half marathon clinic that I had been training with for the past 17 weeks in the winter! I crossed the finish line in agony 2 hours and 13 minutes later. I had succeeded!
On March 6th, 2016th, I ran my 27th 1/2 marathon, my 2nd in fact this year, and my 11th Chilly Half. It was a beautiful day, warm, sunny and little wind. and I ran with a good friend and client. It was not the furthest I have run nor the fastest. But it was a great run because I am healthy enough to complete it and because I had fun!
Sometimes our biggest successes have nothing to do with time or place!
