2 Podium Finishes in June

On June 6th I raced a new course by MultiSport in Woodstock, Ontario where I placed 3rd in my age-group in the Sprint course.  While thrilled with the podium placement, I was not as excited about my performance.  I felt sluggish and out of form and felt a little run down with the heat that afternoon.  However, it was the first race of the season and after a heavy spring running season, I wasn’t rested for this race.  Next up on my training-road to the Budapest World Championship was a Sprint Triathlon in Welland  (MultiSport) on June 26th.  In Welland, I crossed the finish line first (in my age-group) in a race to the finish line, but due to a Time-Trial start, I ended up second by 6 seconds.  I felt great for the entire race and was really proud of this strong finish.  I’m still chasing that age-group win, perhaps later this season.  Up next, Gravenhurst Olympic in July.
